If you're a new player or joining a new group, you might not know what to expect when you start that first session or what in 'normal' for a typical one. Pathfinder has a list of common conventions in both the Player Core and the pre-Remaster Player's Handbook that give some guidance on what you can expect. Make sure you discuss it woth your table or if you're the GM, you discuss it with your players to ensure that everyone can have a fun and comfortable time at the table!
