Types of Machine Learning: Explained Simply
In this video, Antonio Alonso-Stepanov, an NCSSM Online AI teaching assistant, explains the three types of machine learning: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, and reinforcement learning. To give a more concrete explanation of unsupervised learning, k-means clustering is also explained in some detail. This video aligns to concept 3-A-i in the AI4K12 standards and is catered toward high schoolers in terms of assumed prior knowledge and example relevance. This video will be one among multiple covering AI4K12’s “Big Idea 3 – Learning” standards for grades 9-12, which can be found here: https://ai4k12.org/big-idea-3-overview/. The Artificial Intelligence for K-12 initiative (AI4K12) is developing national guidelines for AI education for K-12.
