Test for the presence of tear or rupture of the medial and lateral collateral ligaments of the knee.
The test is positive if the knee gaps beyond normal range, or the presence of pain when the respective ligament is stressed.
A positive test may indicate tear or rupture of the medial or lateral collateral ligaments, depending which side is being stressed/stretched.
