It's no secret that factory cars have had literally tens of millions of dollars spent to make them pretty darn good from stock, so jamming a $50 air filter under your hot engine bay is more than likely going to decrease power. However if someone spends the time to make an intake that is BETTER than stock, there might actually be some gains to be had, aside from the extra fluttering choo choo turbo whooshes.
There is no denying that the Eventuri intake is one of the most expensive on the market, but it's also the most impressive bit of automotive art you could consider hiding under your hood.
BUT, does it work as well as it looks? Or is it another case of form over function?
Only one way to find out! We put it to the test on a 100% bog stock car to see whether the advertised figures stack up.
Too often manufacturers of aftermarket parts pluck dyno figures from the air, or do them in unfair conditions (eg swith the hood open on cold days) to sway the numbers in their favour.
With the help of GT Auto Garage and Scuderia Autoart, we installed the CF intake onto a stock A90 Supra and ran it back to back 6 times with and without the hood closed, just to see whether this unit functions as advertised.
Our race Supra was out of action at the time of filming this, so we will revisit the results and repeat these tests (along with the headlight duct addition) in our next installment, so be sure to hit the sub button if you want to see the changes on a tuned car vs a stock one.
Many thanks to Eventuri, Scuderia Autoart and GT Auto Garage for letting us run these tests.
