The complainant in the sexual assault case against Ian McGrail gave her statement to police at the law firm Hassans - and not at New Mole House Police Station.
This was revealed in the Magistrates' Court, where the officer who arrested the former Police Commissioner said it was felt the police station wouldn't be appropriate.
Senior Investigating Officer, John McVea, also appeared for the Crown today after being called to court at short notice by the judge.
He said he had no concerns surrounding the integrity of the evidence or the complainant, or about the letter which assured her of whistle-blowing protections. The Crown's case has now concluded.
Meanwhile, the former Chairman of the Police Federation, Maurice Morello, has been described as "unlocatable" by Stipendiary Magistrate Charles Pitto - despite having been issued with a witness summons.
