Hymer Aktiv Loft Camper Van: 2nd Look & The Dirty. We have reviewed the Hymer camper van before and liked most of it. It is a European designed van made in Ontario, Canada. Lots of thought has gone into the design and construction of this camper, but it leaves a little to be desired, especially for the eternal nomad van life boondocker.
The added room for 2 more adults in the loft is wonderful. And the pop up tent van roof makes for easy compliance for city height parking ordinances and laws. I like that.
The expensive Voltstart and lithium batteries as options are a concern. It makes the base price so much more expensive, although I really like these features a lot. The Combi Truma hot water heater and furnace is a very nice touch!
Other folks have had a financial relationship with Hymer and sugar coated a few of the problems, so I though it was time to post another review, as I had just attended the RV show at Tradex in Abbotsford and seen the latest model of the Hymer van again.
It's a great van. It just needs a few improvements, especially the cassette toilet. It has to go. Seriously. Are you listening Hymer?
