Watch Us Wrangle Mille into an All Star Doodle
This is a live lesson with Jesse Sternberg and Millie, a medium sized black doodle. We are choosing to walk her to the park on a long line where we will do our training. The long line helps us stay peacefully connected to her, you'll see what I mean. When we get to the park we work some basic skills every dog should have. The stay, the place, a long sit and hold (I call this meditation). We make it fun for her, offering her several different breaks where she gets to run, chase, and get treats (I call this gym class). When you tune into the dog's breathing and their signals, it becomes apparent when it's time to shift activities. Shifting them back and forth has a rather zen like effect on them.
This is all to make her much less reactive, more connected to her mom, and to leave her feeling peaceful all day.
