Star Citizen's F8C Lightning: A Double Rugpull on the Community?
In this video, we talk about the legendary F8C Lightning. Once a reward reserved for only the biggest spenders in Star Citizen, CIG has suddenly announced that players can receive the ship by completing an absolutely trivial event in game for a "golden ticket" that was touted as being rare, despite most players being able to find within minutes -- sometimes by the handful! I have serious problems with how this ship performs, and the myriad reasons players might feel deceived about this event, and the current performance of the hull.
On top of this, the F8C raised nearly $2 million in new backer money since the event went live, and while the exclusivity has been destroyed for original backers, many players have said that they purchased the hull to "own the whales." In the end, the only people getting "owned" might be the backers, because the whales have lost a very exclusive capstone to their collection, and players who were elated at the F8C's absolutely off the charts overpowered performance are in for a rude awakening as CIG is already pushing dramatic, hull altering nerfs to the ship on the PTU.
