Motorsport Manager GT Series DLC Guide, Ep 1
In this two part guide we look at the differences between the GP Downloadable Content (DLC) pack, and the open wheeler series that comes in the base game.
This is not replacing the regular series featuring the legendary Scuderia Quantistica, but since some of the members of the most dysfunctional team in motor racing history are still down on the farm this mini-series acts as a placeholder.
In it we look at spoilers in comparison to the wings that the open wheelers have, and at the use of ballast to achieve cornering and how that varies from downforce.
We look at the system of 3 stage elimination and qualifying to determine grid positions, and the trade off of the top 10 cars on the grid being required to use their Q2 qualifying tyres. This means that they will need to make a pit stop earlier than the cars which are eliminated in the Q1 round. And naturally we look at a few schemes and strategies to manage and reduce tyre wear.
We look at qualifying trim vs race trim.
We look at the need to hit the sponsor objective not just in the race, but now in qualifying as well.
We look at but are not particularly impressed by the Clear Air Optimisation mini-game that you have to play on each out lap of Qualifying, and why most people probably just set it to auto.
In episode 2, we look at the Energy Recovery System which can be used judiciously to boost performance, and the ways in which pit stops differ slightly from those in the open wheeler competitions.
