In this lecture, we will explore a simple method to add a Navigation Drawer inside the existing Android Application. We approach we will adopt is quite simple and works well on all versions of Android. This approach will help you add Navigation drawer inside multiple activities with ease.
We will add a new activity named DrawerActivity that contains a navigation drawer then for all the activities inside which you want to add navigation drawer we will create a new layout file and copy the XML code of drawer activity inside new XML file we created. For example, if you want to add a drawer inside activity_main we will create new XML file nav_activvity_main.xml. Then we will copy drawer_activity.xml code inside this nav_activity_main.xml file. We will change the layout attached with this drawer to activity_main and also change the layout associated with this Main_Activity.java to nav_activity_main. Then we will add the code to handle callbacks for items of the navigation drawer.
