Many people who have chronic pain get hyper focused on MRI findings like a bulging or degenerated disc or meniscus tear, etc.. They wonder why we focus on the ligaments, but the ligaments are the most important structures of a joint because they hold the bones together in order to allow proper joint motion. If the ligaments are loose, injured, degenerated, or torn, they cannot provide the necessary support for the joint. Thus, the joint moves in destructive ways and starts grinding down cartilage, putting pressure on discs, etc... and allows a person to get injured more easily. Our goal is for patients to have their joint restored non-surgically, thus, focusing on the root cause of the problems that were seen on MRI: the ligaments! To do that, we use Prolotherapy which targets the ligaments to repair and tighten, restoring proper joint motion and stopping the destructive joint motion that was leading a patient toward osteoarthritis and other serious joint problems.
