Video Transcript:
In this video I'd like to take a look at how to view two documents side-by-side simultaneously. So notice here I have a document open and let's say that I want to view another version of the document side by side. So I'd like to divide the screen where I have both documents showing at the same time. To do that I need to go to View and then select View Side by Side. Now when I do that a window opens and it shows me all the documents that are currently open. So to do this I want to have my other document that I'd like to view side by side already open. So I'm going to select this document here click OK and then notice now I've got both documents side by side. Now you should see on your screen this button is selected View Side by Side and this button is also selected Synchronous Scrolling. So what happens is if I scroll down one document notice the other document also scrolls down the same time. if I scroll up it does the same thing. Or if I move down within the document they'll both move together and this could be quite handy if I'm trying to compare two documents or I want to check on something or what have you. Now if I want to turn off that synchronous scrolling. Say I want to be in chapter 3 here and I'd like to be in chapter 4 on this side, then and I go ahead and click this button deselect it so it's turned off and now I can click on my document on the right scroll down and now I'm in chapter 4 on that document. OK that's it for viewing two documents side by side in Microsoft Word. Thanks for watching.
