Why Kingdom Hearts Doesnt Need Disney Anymore
In the beginning the kingdom hearts story world building relied much on Disney worlds while having final fantasy characters as special guest to push the story foward especially in worlds like hallow bastion and traverse town.
Over the years kingdom hearts has build a roster of characters from organization 13 as well as characters from Union cross which tells the story of what happens many years ago before the events of Birth by sleep
In kingdom hearts 3 we experiene a lack of final fantasy characters that everyone wanted to see such as Cloud and Leon. However, we learned from Tetsuya Nomura that the final fantasy characters were not needed because Kingdom hearts had built up so many other characters that the final fantasy ones were not needed to make the story interesting.
The secret ending of kingdom hearts 3 has revealed to us more Final fantasy like characters such as Yozora and what appears to be a cast of characters similar to final fantasy 15.
After playing nearly all kingdom hearts games I have come to the conclusion that kingdom hearts does not need Disney anymore. The lore of kingdom hearts can continue without Disney characters. If Square Enix decides to write a new story without disney worlds and disney characters it would work just fine.
