MESSAGE:
As promised, a tut for cycles again.
I created this workflow ages ago back then in Cycles 4D the Cycles version for Maxons Cinema 4D to come close to the accuracy of Octanes Volumes.
To implement this, I had to first develop a method to render "Fake Shadows" so render time was not wasted on caustics.
In this tutorial I go over how to create the method as well as implementing a more true to life scattering system using cycles built in volume shading.
