The Great Hair-Raiser
This short, shot in Super8 in 1989, was something of a salvage job. I shot an entire short in black and white, unable to preview as I shot. It was about a guy having trouble writing a novel. What he wrote would appear around him and change as he changed his ideas. When I got the film back from the lab, almost all of it was out of focus. So to salvage the project, I make a much simpler movie preview spoof. Admittedly some gags fall flat, or may not be understood (Reagan turns into George Bush), but it's just supposed to be nonsense humor.
