What is AMR? How does AMR occur?
Did you know that by 2050, 10 million people could die every year because of antimicrobial resistance? And you may not have even heard of it!
Hi, I’m Dr. Sophie Newton, a British medical doctor (GP/Family Physician). In today’s video, we’re talking about an important topic that affects everyone: antimicrobial resistance (AMR).
Antimicrobial resistance happens when bacteria and other germs change and become stronger than the medicines used to kill them. This makes infections harder to treat and can make us sick for longer. If we don't act now, AMR could make minor infections deadly.
In this video, I’ll explain:
What antimicrobial resistance is
Why it’s a serious problem for everyone, including you and your family
Simple steps you can take to help fight this urgent issue
Understanding AMR is crucial. It’s a growing threat that needs our attention now. Please watch, engage in the comments, and share this video with your friends and family. This is a problem we can only solve if everyone understands and gets involved. Let’s help save lives together.
