In this tutorial, you will learn how to create a water ripple effect in Photoshop.

Create a new document with 1024 width and 768 height. Click on the Gradient tool in the toolbar. On the top-left corner of Photoshop, click on the center of the drop-down menu that looks like a wide gradient to open the "Gradient Editor" window. Apply color #0054A6. Set "Location" at 59% and click OK. Click and drag diagonally on the document to apply the gradient. Click on the "Filter" menu, point to "Distort", then select the "ZigZag" option. "ZigZag" window will appear. Set the "Amount" to 100, "Ridges" to 10 and "Style" to "Pond Ripples". Click OK. To give the image more depth and a glossy effect as if the water is reflecting light: apply the same effect you applied just now again on the image.
That’s all!
