This game has SHIT LOADS of stuff going on. So many different things you can do/destroy/collect/activate (not just the F1-F6). Beautiful graphics and animations. Hard to believe it's not AGA. Only 32 colors. Even more amazing is this was made in Amos.
I did some quick research on the items and stuff before beginning the play. It went a bit slow early on and I noticed later that I could have used the aim item/ability. To not make the earlier stages last TOO long before completion, I used shit loads of save-states until I managed to complete the levels in reasonable time, 'cause watching the length of it as it is now is already boring enough, I think.
Some levels were just tooo annoying to complete without a bunch of items being used. Some of them I couldn't figure out how to complete (I learned how later though). Luckily I could skip levels by sacrificing a life. Very costly as one life is worth 20 gold. When I started to use items, things went much easier and faster. But later I ran into money problems due to been living in luxury, and skipped too many levels. I now had to do each and every level, pretty much without or as few items as possible, so I could buy the very much needed items for whatever came up later, especially lives as I only had 1 left or something. Those levels will take a while to finish. I sped up some of them in editing. At the close end of the game, I was swimming in gold and items though :)
I visited Options in the beginning and activated everything, or so I thought. I missed the Messages option. I re-visited Options much later again and saw this and activated it then instead.
I got stuck at one point: • Video (read the video description)
Some copy/paste from a document that came with the game:
------------------------
BabeAnoid v2.0 - Final Release (2003-03-29), full game (Amiga Classic)
So here it is after eight years of work:
The biggest, badest Arkanoid/BreakOut clone known to man! Take it or leave it, hate it or love it...
If I were to write a full doc or guide covering all features of BabeAnoid it would take me a whole month! And No-one reads 'em anyways...well, most people don't.
Most things you need to know is explained in the game, or is meant to be a learning experience. Here is a point though:
Changing the direction of the ball: BabeAnoid does NOT use the classic way for this, but rather real physics - Hit the ball with a moving bat and you will change its direction accordingly - and increase its speed.
