13x gold medalist & 3x ESPY award winner Jessica Long discusses her incredible life story and the lessons she’s learned as a high-performing athlete with a disability who has trained alongside the top able-bodied athletes, including Michael Phelps.
A member of the Forbes 30 Under 30, Jessica was born without legs in Russia and moved to the United States at a young age. She began her illustrious international swimming career at the 2004 Paralympic Games in Athens, Greece by winning 3 gold medals—at age 12. Jessica has gone on to compete successfully at every Paralympic Games since Athens and is currently training for the 2021 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. However, her talents extend far beyond her athletic achievements. Jessica is an accomplished motivational speaker and published her first book Unsinkable: From Russian Orphan to Paralympic Swimming World Champion in 2018. Jessica’s story is not only an inspiration for all, but also serves as a lesson for companies that are looking to access the untapped potential of high performing people with disabilities in the workforce.
