Overview:Based on true events, Sarah, a vibrant teenage girl, looks forward to her 18th birthday so she can leave her controlling father, Don (Judd Nelson). But before she can blow out the candles, Don locks her in the basement of their home and her world becomes very dark. When Don tries to convince his wife, Erin (Jolie Fisher), that Sarah should leave home, he sneaks down to the basement to visit her, torment and rape her while Erin and her sister, Amy (Emily Torp), continue to live upstairs. As time passes, Sarah gives birth to several children, alone in the basement . Don eventually raised their youngest son, leaving him on the doorstep, and Irene found him and a note written by Sarah saying that it was her son and she could not take care of him, and Irene eventually accepted Don's story about Sarah. After decades of captivity, Sarah finally escaped, and her family learned the devastating truth of what had happened under their feet for 20 years.
