Elon Musk Demands Workers Come Back Into the Office "Pretend to Work Somewhere Else"
Yesterday a company wide email from Elon Musk began circulating amongst Tesla employees. The e-Mail stated that Elon expected workers to stop working remotely and to return to the office. He said he demands workers spend no less than 40 hours per week in the office and that if employees wanted to "pretend to work" they could "pretend to work elsewhere". He also carefully crafted his words stating if you don't return to the office in two days he'll assume you resigned, the key word being resigned, not that you would be fired as people who resign are not eligible for unemployment benefits.
This has stirred up quite the firestorm online which is the case with most things Elon talks about. Some are saying Tesla is likely to lose valuable employees, though others point out that Tesla received over 3 Million applications last year and aren't hurting for talent applying.
In addition to covering this story I just wanted to talk a bit about remote work or working from home overall, do most employees like or dislike it, what are the pros and cons, etc.
