Boosting Analytical Data with Derivative Signal Processing!
In this video, I demonstrate how to analyze coffee spectra using a TrinamiX Near IR spectrophotometer. The goal is to compare an unknown extract to four known materials by examining their spectral similarities using Pearson correlation. The data is enhanced with the SciPy Savitzky-Golay method and Standard Normal Variate processing. Emphasis is placed on the advantages of using derivative signal processing to significantly improve the signal quality.
