By the fourth grade, we’ve memorized our math “Times Tables,” which are taught as an essential part of elementary arithmetic around the world. So everyone knows that 12x12=144, and, no matter where you live, that doesn’t change. Years of “linear learning” have developed a human linear mindset when it comes to numbers adding up and guaranteed outcomes. However, life is not set up in linear form, and the outcomes are not assured. The constant clash of a linear mindset in a non-linear world is the basis for “Human Math,” which is about restructuring one’s perspective when it comes to “average life expectancy” (how long you live) vs “above average life experience” (WHY you are alive).
Human Math uses traditional addition and subtraction, in a very nontraditional way, and real-life equations to prove that, while you cannot always control the variables, you can control your responses … and while you may not be able to add years to your life, you can absolutely add life to your years. Since his first radio broadcast in 1997, John has hosted over 24,500 shows along with interviewing 11,500 authors, world leaders, athletes, and others of name and note. In 2007 The Visionary Project (UK) compiled an international list of 500 people who have been deemed “visionaries” in the arts, sciences, politics and other areas of human achievement. The list includes names such as President Jimmy Carter, Oprah Winfrey, Nelson Mandela, and … John St. Augustine. In June of 2006, St. Augustine put his microphone on hold to help create and launch the “Oprah & Friends” XM Satellite Radio network. He was the Executive Producer of “The Dr. Oz Show,” and is the Executive Producer of “Earth Matters with Bill Kurtis.”
John presented at the prestigious TEDxNASA conference in 2009 and is the best-selling author of “Living an Uncommon Life” (2006) and “Every Moment Matters” (2009.)
