👉🏽“Let’s try that again bud, I know you can do it.”
👉🏿“Nice try, amigo. Can you show me the right way to do it?”
👉🏻“Oops, you’re a smart kid, let’s pause, think for a second and then you can try it again.”
👉🏽“Hey, I know you’re a good friend, I’m going to watch and see what nice thing you do when you go back to play at that center.” (Kids love to know you’re watching!)
👉🏿Kid makes a big mess, instead of getting upset: “Thanks for being helpful and cleaning that up… you are always such a good helper.”
👉🏻“It’s not easy, but if you keep trying you will get it… don’t give up. We can take a break if you want.”
✨AND IF ALL ELSE FAILS
👉🏻remember kids want to be helpful and if you phrase it: “could you help me with something? I’ve got a job I need your help with...”
(Something along those lines, they should step up!)
