1-9 Zbrush Save Formats .ZTL and .ZPR, Zbrush Importing/Exporting .OBJ, Zbrush 2020, .MA and GoZ
Hi everyone,
This video covers the two Zbrush saving formats, and how you can also export as .OBJ formats.
Zbrush saving formats
• .ZTL - Current Model, and its subtools (layer) only (Only the mesh)
• .ZPR - Zproject saves your entire project, with all settings, including camera, lighting, material of mesh etc, everything intact
Zbrush Importing/Exporting
• .OBJ and .MA
• GoZ -Transfer seamlessly between Maya and Zbrush
Exporting as .MA or using GoZ to transfer is not recommended at this point. While GoZ in theory sounds very good, there are many times where it causes other problems and instability. .Obj export and import and still cleanest. You can also Merge the subtools & export as 1 obj, while separating the obj into more separate meshes in your 3d software, like Maya.
