Camtasia Slow Motion & Fast Motion Video
I’m going to show you how to slow down or speed up your video or audio clips in Camtasia and, in addition to the basics, you’ll discover the ins and out of using the clip speed visual effect through four additional examples.

I most often use the fast motion special effect to speed up boring or less interesting video clips. For example, when you show someone logging in, doing form data entry, or you want to show a process or workflow, you don’t really need to have the user watch this in real time to show the full details and time lapse, instead you may want to speed up the process with an accompanying narrative track. This narrative track is usually run in parallel to the speed-adjusted clips, thereby creating a quicker, more effective and engaging visual experience.
In comparison, I may use slow motion to fix or solve certain problems like filling in a time gap by stretching out the length of a clip or slowing down the actual content I recorded because it is too fast for the pre-recorded narrative track.
When you get into fine tuning in your video editing, there is often a lot to do to synchronise the video clips or other visual elements to pre-recording voice narration or music elements that need to all come together. Learning to synchronise the audio and video elements makes for a much more enjoyable finished produced.
Focus on each of the 4 examples I provide to learn how to take your video editing skills to the next level with clip speed in Camtasia. You will often find that you combine the clip speed in conjunction with other editing elements like contracting or extending clips, key frame extension, and plain old truncating or cutting.
