Below is the command to generate SSL certificate using keytool:
#keytool -genkey -alias selfsigned -storetype PKCS12 -keyalg RSA -keysize 2048 -keystore mykeystore.jks -validity

Brief description about above command:::
-genkey:Genate a new private key
-alias:Create an alias for this key named "selfsigned"
-storetype:key store type is PKCS12
-keyalg:Key algorithm for encryption(RSA)
-keysize:Specifies the size of each key to be generated(2048)
-keystore:key store filename and location(mykeystore.jks)
-validity:This certificate will be validate for 360 days
