I highly recommend enabling this feature on Android if you're using a screen protector.

The global smartphone screen protector market is said to be a multi-billion industry. With some reports saying there were 51.38 billion worth is screen protectors sold in 2022.

For many people, they simply apply the screen protector and go about their day. But I know a lot of people have noticed that the touch sensitivity of their display has decreased since applying a screen protector on their smartphone.
And there are others who refuse to use a screen protector at all due to the decrease in touch input sensitivity.
So today, I want to point out a feature that's built into Android that will allow you to increase the touch sensitivity of your display. With hopes that it brings it back to the performance level you're familiar with when not using one at all.
This feature is buried within the Settings app in different locations. . .and sometimes the feature is labeled differently. . .depending on who makes your phone and which firmware you're currently using.
google pixel touch sensitivity
I have the Google Pixel 8 and we can find this feature by first opening the Settings application.
Scrolling down so that we can tap the Display & Touch menu.
And then toward the bottom you should see a feature labeled Touch Sensitivity.
Tap on that
And then enable the feature by tapping on the toggle here.

Now, if you're using a Samsung Galaxy device, then I have the Galaxy S23 here
And we can find this feature by launching the Settings application.
Scrolling down until we find the Display menu.
Then scrolling down to the bottom again.
You should then see a toggle for Touch Sensitivity
And we can enable the feature from here without needing to go into another menu.
xiaomi hyperos touch sensitivity
If you have a device from Xiaomi, whether it's using MIUI or HyperOS firmware, like I have here with the Redmi Note 13 Pro
Then sadly, you may be out of luck.
This touch sensitivity feature is no where to be found within the Display section of the Settings application
And searching for the word sensitivity only pulls up a recommendation for the Accessibility menu.
But there's no touch sensitivity feature to be found here.
At least not one that I have been able to find.
I did a bit of research trying to find if there was another way of enabling this feature on Xiaomi devices and have not had any luck in this regard either.
Some forums recommend dialing the code ##64663##
and then performing a touch calibration test while the screen protector is installed
while another one recommends you dive into the language and input section of the Settings app
and then look for the feature labeled pointer speed
However, this test and adjusting that setting was not able to fix the issue for everyone.
So I would recommend you try it, if you're having this issue with HyperOS devices
But I do not believe this will actually change anything.
I'm not sure if this feature has just been removed due to some of their phones not having the correct hardware
Or if Xiaomi has just removed the feature entire from the software.
There do seem to be a few apps in the Google Play Store that claim to offer this type of feature.
But almost all of them seem to either be sketchy cleaner apps
Or apps to promise improved performance while gaming
Which also seems pretty sketch to me
If you have a Xiaomi device with MIUI or HyperOS installed, and know where the touch sensitivity feature is hiding, then please share those details in the comments section below.
