One of the main attractions of Gatchina is the landscape park ensemble Palace Park, created in the late 18th century. It is the oldest of the complex of Gatchina parks, its area is 143 hectares.
It is located in the central part of the city. It closely adjoins the city buildings in the west and east. In the south-east there is a border separating the Palace Park from the Priory Park, in the north-west - from the Zverinets, in the west there is a regular park Sylvia, the territory of which used to be a part of the Palace Park. The main structure of the park is the Grand Gatchina Palace, located in its south-western part.
