In this video I will show how to fix dns server not responding on all windows and permanently fix dns server isn't responding on windows 11,10,7,8
A DNS server has a critical job. It translates a domain name into an IP address that your computers can send requests and receive data from.
If you are having DNS issues it usually means you cannot surf the web properly. Make some changes in your settings or completely change the DNS provider if they don't work.
Method 1 – Use Google’s public DNS server
Your ISP’s DNS server might have some issues, so you might want to use Google’s public DNS instead. To do that follow these steps.
Open Network Connections, locate your connection, right-click it and choose Properties.
Once the Properties window opens select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and then open Properties.

Select Use the following DNS server addresses and set 8.8.8.8 as Preferred DNS server and 8.8.4.4 as Alternate DNS server.

Once you’re done, click OK.
Method 2 – Use Command Prompt
According to users, you can fix issues with DNS by using Command Prompt. To do that follow these simple steps:
Start Command Prompt as administrator. To do that press Windows Key + X to open Power User Menu and select Command Prompt (Admin) from the menu.

When Command Prompt opens enter the following lines and press Enter after each:
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
NETSH winsock reset catalog
NETSH int ipv4 reset reset.log
NETSH int ipv6 reset reset.log
Exit
After you close the Command Prompt check if the issue is resolved.
How do I find my DNS on Windows 10?
Open Command Prompt and type in ipconfig /all . This command will list all the network adapters, assigned IPs and DNS servers. Use this as a starting point to help with fixing DNS issues.
Can I use 8.8 8.8 DNS?
The 8.8.8.8 address is a DNS server offered by Google. If you are using a VPN, you should not use this address, but the one from the VPN provider. If you are not using a VPN, then either 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 ( from Cloudflare) are good.
What causes DNS error?
It’s either because you have lost internet connectivity or because the server is not responding due to internal errors. In some rare cases, the DNS address is not valid anymore and needs to be changed.
