Ikrie's Challenge - Gold | Horizon Zero Dawn: The Frozen Wilds
Getting gold was certainly tough. You get a trophy for completing it though. Hopefully this guide will help anyone having trouble!
Main strategy:
Use your lure to attract the machines over to Ikrie so she can use her ice to give you more damage and make the enemies easier to hit. Only use your hunter arrows for the scrappers, then only use your fire arrows for the grazers, finish off however many hunter arrows you have left on the tramplers before switching to your hardhead arrows to finish the final machines and complete the task.
General advice:
Don't waste any arrows trying to get machines attention. Just call them over with your lure.
For some reason, at least for me, Ikrie only liked to hit machines standing in the lower area with the ice next to her rock, rather than the higher more snowy area.
Try to get the grazers as close together as possible before hitting their canisters as all three of them will take damage once a canister is broken.
The Shield Weaver armour is very useful here. It enables you to get closer to machines with less risk making it easier to land good hits. Making every arrow count is important.
There is no time limit, at least not on normal, so don't feel rushed.
This quest should be available after completing "The Survivor" side mission which you can start not far from the Hunting Grounds, at a small encampment.
