In June of this year GLB Productions travelled halfway around the world to attend infocomm 2017, the largest annual conference and exhibition for AV buyers and sellers in the Western Hemisphere. In this video we speak to Professor Doug Jones, head of Danley University.
Douglas Jones was the founding chairman of the Department of Audio Arts and Acoustics at Columbia College Chicago. Mr. Jones retired from Columbia and was awarded the rank of Professor of Acoustics Emeritus in 2013. His professional experience includes acoustic design of recording and broadcast facilities as well as performance spaces and churches. He has worked on six continents, and is still waiting for that acoustical job on Antarctica!
Mr. Jones is a member of both the ASA and the AES. He is the author of Sound of Worship (Focal Press 2010) and the author of five chapters in The Handbook for Sound Engineers, (Glen Ballou, editor) including co-authoring the chapter on loudspeakers with Tom Danley. In 2006, Mr. Jones was awarded the Heyser Award for his contribution to education and acoustical analysis. He currently works for Danley Sound Labs and is involved in training and R&D.
