I'm always fascinated by HD Remasters, and how most seemingly choose to upscale the pre-rendered cinematics rather than re-render. Of course, this can be a time and budget thing, or more likely, the fact that the source is lost. In digging through some files, I found the source Maya file that was used to build the trailer segment I uploaded a few days back, so I re-rendered it at 4k60, just to see what would happen. It's probably not quite perfect, but imagine doing it for every cutscene for the game...
The video included here seemingly leaked in April 2006, predating e3 2006. This is much higher quality, but uses different music and lacks the other bits that seem to imitate the Silent Hill style (particularly some video from Silent Hill 2).
This video even goes back further though, as early as February 2006! Pretty impressive!
