Today's Mordhau gameplay video features my Scimitar build at Feitoria. This is my only build that uses the Scimitar, as I'm not too big a fan of the weapon, even though it's one of the faster weapons for it's power potential.
In Mordhau, compared to the Messer (which also costs 15 gear loadout points), the Scimitar does much more damage to low-armor targets than the Messer, while the Messer is 8cm longer and deals just a bit more damage to heavy armor targets than the Scimitar does. Both weapons are fairly evenly matched when it comes to stab damage.
The speed of the Scimitar is where it takes the clear lead. The Scimitar is faster than the Messer across the board, hitting a triple-digit difference for its combo and recovery times. Compared to the Messer's alt grip mode, the Scimitar's recovery time is 300 (not a typo!) milliseconds faster than the Messer's alt grip. That's huge.
When you're using the Scimitar in Mordhau, you should be looking for enemies wearing little to no armor. Sweep around and hit the backlines, or hyena around a team fight and move in for a quick slash. You can hold your own with the speed, but ideally, hit-and-run tactics work best for the Scimitar since you'll possibly need up to four hits to take down a heavy-armor target.
You can pick up Mordhau on Steam. Coming soon to consoles. https://store.steampowered.com/app/62...
