How to build joint boards without a jointer. Yep, that's simple and easy. Jointers are great tools. Sure, no one is disputing that. However, jointers also cost money, sometimes a lot of it. They also take up space. If you are like me then space is at a premium. Every tool that I have brought into my shop serves dual purposes.
The jointer is one of those tools that I have learned to do what it does elsewhere. There are a lot of different techniques one could imploy in order to arrive at a straight and true board. We all have to take stock of what we have at our disposal and go from their. Jointing boards can be done in several ways. I am using a thickness planer for no other reason then I just happen
to have on in my shop. You could also use a router, router table or you could do it by hand as well. In a future video I may go over some other techniques that would work just as well.
