To get started with how to download shaders for Minecraft 1.21.4, we will need to download the Iris Shaders Installer. Iris Shaders is the Minecraft shader mod for 1.21.4 that allows you to add in different types of shaders to Minecraft.

On this page, click on the “Download Universal Jar” button, and Iris 1.21.4 will start downloading. In order to get shaders for Minecraft 1.21.4, you will need to Java 21 installed. There is a guide to getting Java 21 linked in the description above, and Java 21 is required to install shaders in Minecraft 1.21.4.
After you have Iris Shaders downloaded, you can open the installer with Java. Then, make sure 1.21.4 is selected, and then click the “Install” button. You now know how to install shaders on Minecraft PC 1.21.4!

Once you have your shader packs downloaded, you can play Minecraft using your Iris Shaders 1.21.4 installation in the Minecraft Launcher.
Then, from the Minecraft main menu, click on Options, Video Settings, and Shader Packs in the top right of the screen. This is your shaders menu where you will be able to selected and see the shader packs you have installed. To install shaders in Minecraft 1.21.4, drag-and-drop the shader packs you want to install into this shaders menu.
Once you have done that, they will appear. You can click on the shader pack you want to play and click “Apply” to activate it. You will see a “Shader Settings” button at the bottom of the shader menu. This is great for editing your 1.21.4 shader pack settings. Every shader pack is different, but this can help if you want better performance with shaders or to change settings like the color temperature of your shader pack.
