This mechanism uses a simple gear chain to achieve 1000+ rpm speeds in a fully 3D printed mechanism (no screws or additional hardware- just 3D Printed PLA). Using a 60 tooth gear meshed with a 20 tooth gear (3 to 1) attached to a 90 tooth gear meshed with a another 20 tooth gear (4.5 to 1), they multiply together to achieve a 13.5 to 1 total ratio. That means that the output spins 13.5 time for every 1 full turn of the crank.

I designed this mechanism as part of a fully 3D printable desk sculpture. It's still a work in progress, but I couldn't wait to show this thing in action!
