Today I sit down to chat with Heather about prefects in the UK and hall monitors in the US!
Sorry for the weird audio in this one; this is the final video where I use a convoluted audio setup of 2 shotgun microphones off axis with a "Mix Assist" to switch mics. It's a great setup when I'm sitting further away from my friend, but when so close, it falls apart hard. The video I shot with my mom a couple weeks back is actually my new audio setup for "collabs" and I'm much happier with the sound. I use an SM7B boomed out of shot which has a cardioid pickup pattern perfect for capturing 2 people sitting close of similar dialogue volume. Next week's video actually features 3 different mics in 8 different setups (I had a lot of fun with it) including some experiments with my new lavalier recording setup. I'm pretty happy with how that one's turning out.
