Discover Nagpur: Fine specimen of Maratha architecture ‘Rukhmini Mandir’

A twin temple complex was constructed in mid 18th century right behind the Bhonsla Palace by Raghuji the Third.

Just like other temples in the city, these two are dedicated to Lord Shiva and Goddess Lakshmi Narayan while their names have another story to narrate.

Counted amongst the most beautiful temples in Nagpur, Raghurajeshwar and Rukhmini Mandir are named after Raghuji third, the king and his court dancer Rukhminibai, one of the eight king's concubines.

Typical Maratha pillars and Nagpuri arches here are not something to be missed.
