Passy is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in south-eastern France. Located there is the Sancellemoz sanatorium, where Professor Marie Curie died. Lac Vert is located in the commune.
Average mountain town belonging to the community of municipalities in the Mont-Blanc , there were 10 958 inhabitants in 2013, making it the eleventh Haute-Savoie town. It is also the largest of the department consists of many hamlets or villages (Bay Charousse the Ruttets, Passy Marlioz, Chedde, Joux, the Frasse and beyond the Arve, the Plagnes). It is located in the upper part of the Arve valley , in the historical province of Faucigny , on the foothills of the Chablais massif , at the beginning of what is now called the country of Mont Blanc .

Meanwhile, the Plateau d'Assy , in the position of adret , welcomes the start of a medical tourism with the installation of sanatoriums . These developments boost population growth. If the healthcare business continues over the following decades, it is about to disappear in the early xxi th century. Industrial activity continues. Moreover, the town continued its tourism with the ski resort of Passy Plaine Joux and the tourist development of its rich heritage, particularly through the discovery itineraries.
