Chernobyl Disaster was an event that occured on 26th of April, 1986 in the city of Pripyat, in which the 4th reactor of the Chernobyl NPP exploded due to many factors, including the old equipment and the lack of the cooling water. At first, the tragedy was hidden by the Soviet government, but it became known of worldwide when the radioactive clouds swept across the eastern part of the European continent. It is estimated that the area will remain unhabitable for five more decades.
