In this tutorial, we will create a Windows 10 installation U.S.B. drive from a downloaded .iso file, using the Command Prompt only, requiring no additional software. In most instances, this would not be necessary, as the Windows Media Creation Tool offers the creation of U.S.B. media by default. However, this option is not offered for preview versions of the type we have covered in recent tutorials.

This video is part of a trilogy, each exploring a different method of creating a Windows 10 installer U.S.B. stick. In each instance, the starting point is a downloaded .iso file, obtained using the method shown in the tutorial linked below. In the first part of the series, we created the installation media using the free Windows DVD/USB Download Tool, and, in the concluding chapter, we explore Rufus, which presents additional options not included with the Windows DVD/USB Download Tool.

Be aware that, as with all projects of this type, the installation media entirely overwrites any data previously saved upon the U.S.B. stick, and you should therefore backup the contents of the stick prior to use.
