All that stands between you and a great paying career in truck driving is a Class A CDL and the knowledge you need to actually drive the truck. What's it like to go through the process of learning to drive a semi in three weeks, anyway? In this four part series, follow Morry and Matt as they get the truck driving school experience first hand. Morry, from Atlanta, and Matt, from Lexington, have had very different paths in life to lead to a trucking career, and now they have a single goal - to become safe, licensed truck drivers and start hauling freight. In Part 1, Morry and Matt discuss what led them to choose a truck driving career and what their experience in the classroom learning the theory of truck driving has been like. They tell us about the process of getting the Class A CDL permit and learning map reading, trip planning, logging, and the beginning of the pre-trip inspection. They also talk about their reservations and excitement about getting out to the practice range and actually driving a truck in the second week.
So follow Matt and Morry on their new adventure in truck driving. We'll check in with them again during their second week at truck driving school so we can watch the transformation from regular guys to truck drivers continue to happen.
