But not a number to be seen
He’s searching for something big
But he only sees a three

Should it be 3 or #9, which will make my stomach be just fine!
His stomach growls.
His stomach whines!
Help him decide!

The greater number is where he heads
It’s funny how some numbers are big and some are small
We use greater than or less than and sometimes they’re equal
Just use your mind and number lines, think in pictures and always use math signs

Story Behind the Song:
Two years ago, my students could not stop singing "Let it Go,"
so I decided to capitalize on that and grab their interest when it came time for us to learn about comparing numbers. This is the result!
A fun way to introduce students to the vocabulary of greater than, less than, and equal! We watch this video about an alligator searching for a big number to eat and then have a conversation about what these vocabulary terms mean. My Kindergarten students have loved it!
