"Animation is cinema" is a mantra that I hear every now and then. With animated movies like Inside Out 2 or Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, I agree that some animated films are "cinema." But not all animated films are cinema. Some of them are just made to be an easy form of entertainment and not much. Illumination and Despicable Me 4 is the best example of that. Despite both being two animation studios that are very successful in the box office, Pixar and Illumination achieved that through VERY different means.
