The Tiger is often seen as the successful heavy tank, whereas the Königstiger is seen as a lumbering moving bunker. Yet, if we look at the original requirements and further orders, it becomes apparent that the Tiger was just an interim solution and that both the industry and Hitler wanted to field the Königstiger as soon as possible.
