This will show you all the steps you will need to build a decorative birdhouse from scratch using off cuts of wood you might have to hand just lying around in your shed or garage. This birdhouse is made from off cuts of wood I picked up from a local tradesmans skip.

The following is a list of the sizes of pieces of wood you will need to build it. You will need:-

Base 34cm x 36cm
Sides x 2 22cm x 20cm
Front and Back width 24cm x Height 32cm The angle is cut at the top centre to 20cm from the bottom of each side.
Roof x 2 32cm x 22cm
Middle floor 22cm x 21.6cm
Bird hole discs x 2 10cm diameter (optional)
Bird hole 3cm diameter.
Roofing felt cut to size
Hinge
Wood glue (waterproof)
Screws
Screwdriver
Panel pins
Exterior stain or wood preserve
Exterior wood paint
Final coat clear exterior varnish for year round protection (optional)

All other decoration is optional and only requires a bit of imagination, so add what ticks your boxes. I will add videos of some of the small parts I made just in case you want to give it a try.

Tools you will need are:-
Saw
Jigsaw
Hammer
Pencil
Tape measure
Drill & bits
Right angle
Sand paper

Handy tools if available:-
Electric sanding disc
Cross cut saw
Table saw
Nail gun
