Goldeneye 007 - Best Way to Play
First Person Shooters are very popular today, but that was not always the case. You had your DOOM's and QUAKES but the release of Goldeneye was something else. Created by Rareware for the nintnedo 64 in 1997, this might be one of the most influential and important FPS games of all time.
Iconic sound design and clever level design makes this game worthy of a playthrough to this day. But it's not as simple as it seems. Goldeneye only ever came out on the Nintendo 64, and it does not hold up to todays standards at all. Low framerates and awkward controls, because of only having one analogue stick, plauges the original release, making it really hard to get back to. After a while you can look past the controls and performance and still enjoy the game, but is there a better way to play this game? Turns out that Microsoft and Rare developed a remastered release of Goldeneye for the Xbox 360, but it never saw the light of day. The reason being liscensing issues.
But luckly for us, the full remaster was leaked on to the internet and can be played on a modded xbox 360 or a xbox 360 emulator. Using RB, you can switch between the new and old graphics, like in Halo anniversary edition. Along with 60 fps and better graphics, using the xbox 360 controller is a god sent, compared to the original n64 controls. But with this in mind: What is the best way to play Goldeneye 007? I will be going over every way to play and compare them. I will keep controlls, graphics, performance and features in mind.
