I just saw Mockingjay yesterday at 12 am (because that's when it came out in Europe, and I am currently studying abroad in Europe!) and I HAD to cover this song. I think this may currently be the second cover up on the internet of the official movie version of the song. If you're going to see the movie soon--this is how the song goes in it!
P.S. Please no advertising in the comments/using this to make new videos without asking for permission? Incredibly rude...
FAQ:
1) "Is this the original, by Jennifer Lawrence?" No. It is BASED on the original from the Mockingjay Part 1 movie, but is a cover. If you want to see the original, search "mockingjay hanging tree" and it will be the first thing that pops up.
2) "How did it get so many views?" It was the second cover EVER of the song (the official movie version, not the popular fan version) to land on the internet. It was up before the audio from the film went up online. It was literally the only complete rendition of the song (from the movie) on the internet. I did not sell my soul. I was just timely. Being in Europe helped, since I saw the movie at the midnight showing, two days before the U.S. saw anything at all.
3) "It's 'necklace of hope' not 'necklace of rope.'" Not in the original "Hanging Tree" song. I refuse to use Plutarch's propagandized version! It stains the truth of the song.
4) *Something rude and hateful*?! If you have nothing nice to say, then please leave me alone. I am not your punching bag. And I will be removing all hateful comments because I don't think the people who leave them deserve an ounce of attention. It's clearly all they want, but I refuse to let them have it.
