In today's video I talk about how to break in Mercury 4 stroke motor as well as break in mercury 25 engine, break in mercury 30 motor and finally break in Mercury 20hp motor.

I recently purchased a new Mercury 25hp motor and according to the owners manual there is a proper Mercury break in procedure for all their outboard engines and outboard motors. The break in procedure for the Mercury 20hp, 25hp and 30hp outboard engines is as follows.

Warm up the engine at idle for 1-2 minutes.

1st hour - Vary the throttle from idle up to 50% (3500rpms). This is half throttle.

2nd hour - Vary the throttle from idle up to 75% throttle (4500rpms). This is 3/4 throttle. Every 10 minutes, do a full throttle (100%) run for one minute straight.

After the two hour break in procedure, it states for the following eight hours, do not full throttle the motor for longer than five minutes at a time.

Well everyone, I hope you enjoyed today's quick guide on how to break in Mercury 4 stroke motor as well as break in mercury outboard and break in mercury 25hp and break in mercury 30hp engine.

Hope it helps!
